When I started this project, ministry, love child, lol, it was many things to me; I wanted a section devoted to self-care. Putting healthy foods in, staying hydrated, weight training & cardio, quiet time, and a healthy morning/evening routine with plenty of rest.
For me, a great day is filled with the Word and self-care. Being the best version of you means taking care of the gifts God gave you, your body, mind, and spirit. As a heart attack survivor, I know how important it is to put yourself right after God.
I’ve gathered my favorite ways to stay healthy, motivated, and happy to help your inner & outer self shine bright.
Stay tuned, and let's SHINE together!

What is your favorite self-care practice?
When you take the time to care for yourself, you invest in your happiness and resilience.
Whether taking a bubble bath, writing in a journal, or simply sitting in silence for a few minutes, make sure you're giving yourself the attention and love you deserve. 🤍
After all, you're the only one who knows exactly what your mind and body need to thrive.
Ideas for self-care:
Try a new form of exercise
Write a love letter to yourself
Start a gratitude journal
Create a vision board or collage
Take yourself on a solo date
Spend time in nature
Take a break from technology
Take a hot bubble bath with candles
Schedule a spa day
Watch a comedy or feel-good movie
Shine from the inside out with a heart of gratitude. Gratitude is a virtue most worthy of our cultivation. Indeed, in all the Christian life, gratitude is to be planted, watered, dressed, and harvested. Gratitude gets at the very essence of what it means to be created, finite, fallen, redeemed, and sustained by the God of all grace.
Ingratitude was at the heart of the fall, and at the heart of what’s fallen about us to this day. “Although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him” (Romans 1:21). Again and again throughout the Old Testament, especially in the Psalms, it is gratitude — giving God thanks — that is the fitting response to his gracious acts of deliverance for his people.
I love to sleep! LOL - crawling in my cocoon (bed) with a good book is a favorite of mine before drifting off!
Getting your “beauty sleep” may feel like an old cliché, but there is actually some truth behind it. Beauty sleep is very real and it refers to how our skin and body begin to heal itself from the day. Here are a few benefits:
The goal is to Shine on the inside and it will show on the outside! To Shine is to reflect the Love of Jesus so that others can see. During difficult times it is hard. One of the best ways to Shine is to find your Joy all the time! How? Each morning when I awake I share three things with God I am joyful or grateful. Before my feet hit the ground. I find even on hard days when I start my day with that moment of joy and gratitude I carry myself differently. Try it:
When you wake pray:
Father, I am so thankful for this day. Thank you for waking me up to another opportunity to SHINE for YOU! Thank you for your Holy Spirit who will guide me and the legion of angels who will follow me today. I am planted in joy today and thankful for ... (Your three things). I love you! Amen.
It is that time again... each year in the spirit of first fruits my church does a Daniel Fast from January 1st through the 21st.
We give the first 21 days of the year to the Lord by eating a clean diet. Just as with tithing, you give the first 10% with the expectation the rest of your income will be blessed giving the first days of the year with the expectation that God blesses the rest of the year.
I will leave a link to the actual fast but this time is great for me to reevaluate my faith walk for the year, cleanse my body, grow closer to the Lord BUT my most favorite about the Daniel Fast is connecting to my Jewish heritage. Trying to maintain God’s laws and his identity as a Jew, Daniel ate cleanly for a period of time in order to show that the God of Israel’s ways was better than the decadent and indulgent ways of the Babylonians.
Check out The Daniel Fast!
Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with bunnies. Easter fills my heart with unparalleled joy, igniting a passion for celebration and renewal. The vibrant hues of pastel eggs, the delicate beauty of blooming flowers, and the whimsical charm of bunny motifs all come together to create an enchanting atmosphere that captivates me every year.
Tabletops are my most favorite place to decorate. Beyond their practicality, tabletops invite personalization and creativity, becoming a reflection of one's style and taste through carefully chosen decor, such as centerpieces, table linens, and dinnerware. From casual breakfasts to formal dinner parties, tabletops play a pivotal role in fostering connection and creating memorable experiences, making them an integral part of any home's ambiance and charm.
