When I started this project, ministry, love child, lol, it was many things to me; I wanted a section devoted to self-care. Putting healthy foods in, staying hydrated, weight training & cardio, quiet time, and a healthy morning/evening routine with plenty of rest.
For me, a great day is filled with the Word and self-care. Being the best version of you means taking care of the gifts God gave you, your body, mind, and spirit. As a heart attack survivor, I know how important it is to put yourself right after God.
I’ve gathered my favorite ways to stay healthy, motivated, and happy to help your inner & outer self shine bright.
Stay tuned, and let's SHINE together!

When measured correctly and baked perfectly we have an enjoyable cake! When we don't we have a bitter taste. Jesus expects us to work and give back. We are told in the scriptures how He feels about the lazy and we are to help the widows and children. With that, I have multiple streams of income. As a family we give to our church, help within the recovery community, and bring awareness to the Fentanyl epidemic within our community and in other ways as God leads. We could not do that without spending time working. If you are looking for a way to earn an additional stream of income or you just want community, click the link, join my team, and let's make a difference together!
I absolutely adore spending Sunday evenings taking care of myself. It's crucial to unwind and relax after a long week, and I make sure to prioritize this special time. I like to indulge in a hot bubble bath, treat myself to a facial, and sip on refreshing cucumber water. It's essential to understand that we are responsible for our own well-being. Neglecting self-care can lead to resentment towards those around us who constantly demand our attention.
After my self-care routine, I love nothing more than snuggling up in bed with a good book. I find it crucial to make my bedtime routine peaceful and unhurried to help me unwind fully. I always ensure fresh sheets and use aromatherapy to help me drift off soundly.
I firmly believe that an evening routine is just as vital as a morning routine. When we take the time to take care of ourselves in the evening, it sets us up for a successful start to the morning. So, this Sunday, take some time for yourself and indulge in some much-needed self-care!
What is your favorite self-care practice?
When you take the time to care for yourself, you invest in your happiness and resilience.
Whether taking a bubble bath, writing in a journal, or simply sitting in silence for a few minutes, make sure you're giving yourself the attention and love you deserve. 🤍
After all, you're the only one who knows exactly what your mind and body need to thrive.
Ideas for self-care:
Try a new form of exercise
Write a love letter to yourself
Start a gratitude journal
Create a vision board or collage
Take yourself on a solo date
Spend time in nature
Take a break from technology
Take a hot bubble bath with candles
Schedule a spa day
Watch a comedy or feel-good movie
Shine from the inside out with a heart of gratitude. Gratitude is a virtue most worthy of our cultivation. Indeed, in all the Christian life, gratitude is to be planted, watered, dressed, and harvested. Gratitude gets at the very essence of what it means to be created, finite, fallen, redeemed, and sustained by the God of all grace.
Ingratitude was at the heart of the fall, and at the heart of what’s fallen about us to this day. “Although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him” (Romans 1:21). Again and again throughout the Old Testament, especially in the Psalms, it is gratitude — giving God thanks — that is the fitting response to his gracious acts of deliverance for his people.
Finally, Fall in Frisco! Well, the weather doesn't say Fall but the calendar does and I am going with the calendar. This weekend I rotated my closet and shoes, and all the boots came out! I love mid-September through New Year's.
Every year, I add to my boot collection and I love suede. Instead of running to Nordstrom, I decided to take a chance on Amazon, and boots I found there...considerably less than the $200 Nordie boots. Link below. I am obsessed with these boots and already have one pair, I am now ordering in every color!
Part of shining for me and being successful is dressing for success. On the days, I leave the house and feel put together I am 90% more likely to achieve more in those work hours!
